Aim
The seminar aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of past financial crises, examining their causes, impacts, and policy responses. By drawing insights from historical economic downturns, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how these lessons can be applied to today’s global financial landscape. The seminar seeks to foster discussions on economic resilience, risk management, and policy-making strategies to mitigate future crises, with a particular focus on the regulatory framework and guidance set by CYSEC.
Objective
- Identify and analyze key historical financial crises (e.g., the Great Depression, the 2008 Financial Crisis, the Asian Financial Crisis).
- Understand the root causes and long-term consequences of economic downturns.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of past policy responses and economic interventions.
- Discuss the relevance of these lessons in today’s economic environment, including inflation, global debt, and digital finance.
- Develop strategies to enhance economic resilience and stability in businesses and financial institutions.
- Interpret regulations: Understand and comply with the European and CySEC regulatory framework governing investment funds.
- Understand legal and regulatory requirements: Ensure compliance with the European and CySEC legal and regulatory requirements for investment funds.
